Description:

This refurbishment kit includes 4 capacitors needed to fix Nintendo Game Boy Advance console.

The 4 capacitor kit is compatible with Game Boy Advance console: 

1 x 330uf 6.3V (marked 337J) to replace CP1
1 x 220uf 6.3V (marked 227J) to replace CP4 
2 x 470uf 10V (marked 477A) to replace CP2 & CP3

A reasonable level of soldering ability are required to install the replacement capacitors. The console must be opened to install.

We only supply branded capacitors from large distributors to ensure quality, lifespan and performance.

Note that the positive end is the end with the solid brown line, it is important to install the capacitors the correct way round, the game boy motherboard is marked with a plus symbol for the positive pad, so ensure the brown line on the capacitor is next to the plus symbol on the board, if in doubt see the orientation on the picture from Helder on this page. 

Solid state tantalum capacitors can help to reduce noise in audio, and this kit follows the recommendations from Helder Game Tech to increase the size of the 330uf cap to 470uf, which is aimed at reducing noise, particularly on boards using specific regulator chips at location U4 on the mainboard.

Noise in audio is more noticeable with amp mods installed along with other mods like IPS screens, so this larger capacitor will work to reduce the noise, and will have no negative impacts on unmodded systems.
